Its burger season and I say “bring it on!” Its the nostalgic smell of a burger on the BBQ that really gets your taste buds watering and the ability to create a variet of modern and delicious burgers that keeps you coming back for more. This is the first of MANY amazing (and healthy) burger posts and I hope you enjoy every one.
Ingredients: (6 servings)
– 2 lbs Ground Lamb – 6 Gluten Free Buns
-1 Beefsteak Tomato – Green Leaf Lettuce
– 6 cloves Garlic – 1 Free Range Egg
– 3/4 Cucumber -1/4- 1/2 cup Feta Cheese
– 1/2 White Onion – Salt and Pepper
– 3/4 cup Plain Greek Yogurt – 1 lemon
– Fresh Mint
Start your BBQ and preheat it to medium heat.
In a large bowl mix together 1/2 cup of grated cucumber (I use a medium cheese grater,) lamb, 4 cloves of grated garlic, 1/2 grated white onion, salt, pepper and crumbled feta cheese. Now for my favourite part… mix together all of the ingredients with you hand and form into 6 even patties.
Place the burgers on the grill and cook for approximately 8 minutes (4 per side.)
While the burgers are on the grill, mix together the yogurt, chopped mint, salt, pepper, 1/4 cup of grated cucumber, and 2 cloves of grated garlic. Set Aside.
Slice beefsteak tomato, white onion and green leaf lettuce. Set Aside.
When the lamb burgers are almost finished, place the buns of the grill to warm and add some char.
When finished, assemble burgers with lettuce, tomato and onion on the bottom, then the burger and a large dollop of yogurt sauce and finish with top bun.
